What better way to learn about what it’s like having a wedding at 111 East in Hutto, TX than from a previous couple, first hand? Today, we’re sharing Claire and Trent’s planning experience, inspiration, and all the details you need to know to celebrate at this intimate venue space.

So, how did you two meet?

We met on Hinge in 2019! Claire liked a picture of Trent first opening the door for Trent to send a killer first message: “Hi!” We met for our first date at Lazarus where we bonded over our love of beer, chips & guac, and grandmas with similar names. The rest was history except we are both gluten-free now, so no more beer.

What was your wedding inspiration?

  • Plants!!! Claire’s favorite color is green so we had to have green incorporated everywhere with lots of greenery.
  • Intentionality – we wanted to walk away feeling like we got to spend quality time with our people but also enjoy the night fully.
  • Sillyness – we tried to incorporate little bits of us into as many details as possible and we are inherently silly/goofy people (ex: requesting the band play “Crush” by David Archuletta).

Why did you choose 111 East?

Simple, modern, elegant aesthetic without the price tag of something similar you would find in downtown Austin. Flexibility and no hidden costs were also key drivers!

Tell us more about your wedding style and theme!

Our style was “clean & green” I would say? We tried to mirror the venue and stick to classic, timeless, but modern, incorporating as much greenery as possible!

What were some meaningful touches you incorporated into your 111 East wedding and why?

  • All gluten-free menu and desserts – it was important that we be able to eat everything at our wedding.
  • Blue Norther Seltzers – our favorite alcoholic beverage and a local Austin company.
  • Band – we wanted everyone of all ages to get out and enjoy themselves.
  • Claire’s jewelry was hand-designed and made by her aunt who works at a local jewelry designer, Liz James.
  • Trent was a swimmer in college and picked a custom “shark fin” lining for his suit and vest.
  • Our officiant, Pastor Lauren – Trent met her at a close friend’s wedding in NC and consulted her when he was planning to propose. She was a part of our engagement season and also did our pre-marital prep.
  • Family style meal – we wanted everyone to interact and pass plates and talk to those around them like a big family meal.

What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?

The reception/meal was the best because it was loud and merry and all our favorite people were together in one room sharing a meal – it felt like we were in the great hall at Hogwarts and we were Dumbledore!

Here’s what they had to say about our time together when bringing their 111 East Wedding to life:

What has stood out to you about our work together?

We were never worried with Sydney driving the ship. 🙂

What would you say to someone thinking about hiring us as their wedding planner?
