Looking for a stunning hill country venue that boasts nature’s charm and a modern venue to celebrate in? Today, Daisy and Cristian share their wedding day inspiration and a glimpse into having a wedding at The Preserve at Canyon Lake.
How did you two meet?
We first met in 2013 at Outback when I was getting onboarded. Cristian walked out of the bathroom and turned the corner to walk down the hallway when he stopped, turned around, and popped his head out of the corner to take another glance at me sitting in the booth with my yellow button-down shirt. Ever since then, we couldn’t be apart from each other.
What was the inspiration for your wedding day?
We wanted something simple yet modern and minimalistic but also fun. We wanted our day to be a day that everyone would talk about forever! Everything about our day showed everything about our fun and loving personality.
Tell us more about your wedding style and theme for The Preserve.
Our theme was very classic black and white with hints of gold. The exact minimalistic look that we were going for. The elegant look that black and white gives for weddings is a classic and clean look and the more we saw inspo photos for black & white weddings drew us to it even more.
Why did you choose The Preserve at Canyon Lake?
We drove for HOURS to many different venues and none of them compared to The Preserve at Canyon Lake. The many tall windows and beautiful outdoor scenery was something that we couldn’t pass up on. We wanted to have an outdoor ceremony but The Preserve’s chapel was perfect! Made us feel like we were outdoors while being in the comfort of air conditioning.
What were you struggling with when it came to finding a wedding planner for your wedding?
We interviewed with 3 other planners before finding Sydney but it was an easy choice when it came to choosing. Sydney gave us such a cool comforting vibe and that she was going to be a perfect fit for us.
Why did you decide to work with our company?
We connected very well on our first call together and she seemed very prepared for all the questions that I had. I looked at previous reviews and everyone gave nothing less than 5 stars. I love Sydney’s fun and personable vibe; I did not get this from other planners that we interviewed.
What was your favorite part of the planning process in prep for your wedding at The Preserve?
Our favorite part of the planning process was being able to DIY a lot. Me, Daisy, being the creative one I was able to express and showcase my creative abilities in our wedding.
What were some meaningful touches you incorporated into your wedding at The Preserve at Canyon Lake?
OUR DOG! Our dog, Quinn, was a HUGE hit on our wedding day! We had giant cutouts made of her face as a prop for the dance floor. This was super important to us since this is our first dog that we adopted together. We also had a figurine made of her that we placed on our cake that showcased her personality.
Dedicating my bouquet to my mom was super important to me as well. My mom is my person and she has gone through a lot of rough patches throughout her life and she deserved the dedication. I just wanted her to know how much she is loved and appreciated by me.
What has stood out to you about our work together?:
The quickness in responding to emails! The helpful links and recommendations were very much appreciated and don’t think I would have found certain vendors without it.
What would you say to someone thinking about hiring us as their wedding planner?
JUST DO IT! YOU WON’T REGRET IT! If you want someone who will be on time to meetings, respond quickly to emails, be on top of vendors to ensure perfection, and make sure the day goes by flawlessly, hire SYDNEY!
What was your favorite moment from your wedding day at The Preserve at Canyon Lake?
We had so many great moments that it’s hard to choose from but if I had to choose it would be after our first kiss and to walk down the aisle and do our dip kiss.
