You’re in your engagement era! Congrats! Now the venue search is on. As many of us know, social media typically shows the “highlight reel” about venues. But what is it REALLY like to have a wedding there? Is the staff friendly? Was the flow from ceremony to reception smooth? Is there enough getting ready space for my party? My friends, I’ve got your back! I coordinated a Camp Lucy Wedding for Caitlin and Noah and cannot wait to share with you my experience there!

What are the getting-ready spaces like at Camp Lucy?

Absolutely. Charming. In Caitlin’s suite, the stunning blue and white flower print wallpaper and natural light pouring in instantly charmed me. The room offered a lounging space for her girls to kick back and have a mimosa as well as a transition space for hair and makeup to setup and glam the girls comfortably. I don’t think you could ask for a better spot to step into your dress and take pictures with the person zipping you up. It was stunning!

I also loved that this room was directly next to our ceremony and reception location, making it easy for the couple to go refresh and share a private moment with apps and drinks before hitting the reception.

Noah’s getting-ready space also boasts plenty of room with rustic design and leather furnishings. The suite faces rolling hills, creating a serene feeling before the big day ahead.

What was it like working with the staff leading up to the wedding?

I couldn’t have asked for a better staff! The Camp Lucy wedding team was hospitable, warm, and always one step ahead. (I mean sheesh, I felt like I was running out of things to do as the coordinator! Ha.) Our point of contact was incredibly knowledgeable, quick with communication, and ensured all our bases were covered to have a seamless day.

Did you find the event flow to be smooth for a Camp Lucy Wedding?

The flow was fantastic. Noah and Caitlin’s ceremony was held in Ian’s Chapel (which has easy, accessible drive-up parking), and within steps, you can reach the courtyard for cocktail hour. Following, the transition to the indoor reception was just as smooth. If you can imagine, the three spaces are set up in a triangle configuration. What I loved about these spaces is that while they are all covered, there’s still the opportunity to enjoy the hill country. From big windows in the reception space to an open-air cocktail hour, it’s a two-fold win to have nature’s beauty and an easy rain plan!

Logistically, how did the wedding day itself go?

Quite honestly, I felt like I shouldn’t have brought along an assistant that day! The staff was always on top of things from bringing out cocktails for the couple as soon as they departed the ceremony to helping direct an easy cleanup. (I will say, having a delicious, in-house catering crew is such a wonderful thing!) It was certainly one of my more “relaxed” wedding days because of the diligent, helpful staff.

What are your thoughts on the guest experience at Camp Lucy?

I love that this venue is its own little getaway. They have a stunning restaurant onsite with plenty of onsite accommodations for your guests or wedding party to crash at after the big day. While Camp Lucy might be tucked into the hill country, getting there from town is an easy drive. If I were a guest, I’d make it an extended weekend!

So tell me, what do you think?

I can confidently say Noah and Caitlin had a flawless day and so many memories to cherish from their experience at Camp Lucy. If you’re considering booking a tour there or planning your wedding at this venue, fill out our contact form and I’d love to be a part of bringing your celebratory day to life as well!
