In Austin, it’s all about being unique and one of a kind. From your style, interests, and even your wedding – people want to see the beautifully articulated “you.” We cannot wait to share how Matt and Margaret did just that with quirky + vibrant Americana inspiration for their wedding.
Deciding How To Implement the Couple’s Vibrant Americana Inspiration
First things first, while we loved the Americana look, we didn’t want to go over the top with red, white, and blue. To combat this, we focused on red specifically and accented the design with subtle blues and whites and even various reds across the color spectrum. To take it a step further, we also implemented mixed metals of gold and copper to compliment the red while toning the blues and whites. (Thank you, Premiere Events, for the rentals!)
Making it Personal
Matt and Margaret had guests joining them from all over the world and wanted to ensure they made the wedding personal to them + told a story to their guests. Our goal was to implement their quirky personalities, taste for a variety of foods, love of live music, and to tell their love story.
- Quirky personalities: Margaret started collecting animal planters a while back and we just HAD to implement them into the design. From swans to dogs, we had a little bit of everything to feature on the guest’s tables. Speaking of animals, we tied this in with fun topiaries in the cocktail courtyard. Perry’s Petals did the most beautiful design work ever!
- Taste for a variety of foods: This couple sure did have a fun, diverse pallet! So of course we had to tie this in. On the menu, we featured stations through Crave Catering including an avocado bar, Mediterranean station, Texas BBQ, and a Crudo Bar. We also went big on desserts – there was an entire spread of cake from Gati Ice Cream and cookies/tarts/macaroons from Sweet Treets Bakery.
- Live Music: Beyond being quirky, Austin is also known as the live music capital! Sammie Zonana played us through a dreamy ceremony on her guitar and Cap City Band had us dance the night away.
- Telling their love story: Matt and Margaret had many missed connections along their story and one day finally met. They shared the story of their favorite spots by creating “table locations” instead of table numbers. At each table, they implemented a blurb about why this spot was so special to them.
